I like to call myself the ‘Highlighter Queen’ because I am totally obsessed with highlighters and will pack it on my face until you can see it from the moon. I’m always looking for the best highlighters out there and when one of my favorite beauty youtuber collaborated with Pixi Beauty and launched the ultimate highlighter palette, I knew I had to get my hands on it.

Before I get into all the reasons why you NEED this palette in your makeup collection, let me just clear up what product I am talking about. It’s called the ‘Rachhloves x Pixi LAYERS Highlighter Palette’ and boy is it amazing.

Rachhloves or Rachel is a beauty Youtuber who has 2 million subscribers and is always testing + reviewing new products. I love her quirky personality and live by her reviews. Just like me, she’s obsessed with highlighters, which is why I knew she would create the perfect product to serve both our needs.

I purchased the LAYERS palette as soon as it launched and fell in love with it the moment I swatched it for the first time. There are total 5 shades in the palette and every single one will blow you away. The reason why she named it ‘Layers’ is because each shade is buildable and can be layered wit;Xh one another to create a custom shade. How cool is that?

The palette is designed very strategically, the two big pans with shades ‘Tee’ and ‘Clutch’ are great everyday shades and are basically meant for layering with the shades on the top of the palette. Ofcourse you can totally wear each shade on it’s own, but that was the original concept behind the construction of the palette.

Every shade is so buttery and smooth, glides on the skin beautifully and gives off a magical sheen. The shade ‘Lace’ is the most pigmented shade, so pack that on when you really want to steal the spotlight.  I personally love layering ‘Clutch’ and ‘Lace’ together as it creates this blinding finish which I adore. The shades ‘Zipper’ and ‘Knit’ are obviously not your everyday picks, but you can totally layer them with the other shades if you want a more unique touch. I absolutely love wearing ‘Zipper’ on the inner corner of my eyes as the little touch of lilac really makes a difference to my makeup look. As for ‘Knit’, I usually swipe it across my eyelids using my finger to achieve that effortless but glam look.
