Let’s dive into why we are all obsessed with the trend and how we can pull it off effortlessly!
What makes this trend special and who wore it
The Siren eye trend is not new but it made a comeback and all thanks to TikTok. It is the dramatic version of 90’s model makeup when the eye makeup was sultry and smoky to create a signature cat eye look. Also, many celebrities unknowingly wore this look including Marilyn Monroe back in the 1950s. In the present age and before this trend even blew up, many celebrities including Bella Hadid, Khloe Kardashian, Zendaya, Megan Fox, Venessa Hudgens and otherss have been seen sporting this trend on different occasions. As the legend says, Siren eyes will lure you in, the term “sire eyes’ refer to the Greek mythological creature “ the Siren” who was dangerous and feminine and would lure sailors and ships with enchanting music and singing. The enticing aesthetic also came back post-Euphoria with the rise of bold eye makeup choices.
Here is how you can master Bella Hadid’s go-to look
Recreating a basic siren look is not that difficult at all! Grab your favorite eyeshadow palette, you can have Urban Decay Mini Naked Eye Shadow Palette or Kevyn Aucoin The Contour Eyeshadow Palette Collection. Apply the lighter shade all over the eye and pick a darker shade from the palette and starting from the eye’s outer corner aim it towards your lash line. To add definition and depth to your look you will need to apply a dark black eyeliner along the waterline and finish the look off with a sharp, winged liner pulled outwards. It should be more horizontal than a normal winged liner, think of going towards your temples for a sharp look. For those who have a set of eyes closer to each other, use a touch of nude liner or a champagne eyeshadow to brighten up the area and make your eyes appear wide.
Now you know how to re-create this fierce look, it’s time to flaunt and get on the bandwagon of “the Siren eye” trend!
